How It Works

Three Steps to Starting Your Chapter

Founding a chapter is straightforward. You'll receive full support and resources along the way.

Apply & Onboard

Submit your chapter application and complete orientation. You'll be set up with everything you need to get started on UPchieve's platform.

Recruit Members

Recruit at least 2 fellow students to join your chapter. Use your school's existing networks, such as honor societies or student council, to spread the word.

Host & Tutor

Host chapter meetings and lead your chapter to complete 40 hours of UPchieve tutoring by the end of the year.

Eligibility

Who Can Apply?

NTHS is open to motivated high school students. All that's needed is a commitment to service and leadership.

  • Currently enrolled in high school (grades 9-12)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (unweighted)
  • Committed to volunteering through UPchieve's online platform
  • Enthusiastic about peer tutoring and educational equity

Starting a Chapter

As chapter president, you'll be responsible for recruiting members, organizing meetings, and guiding your team to meet their tutoring hours. Prior experience is not required.

Joining an Existing Chapter

If your school already has an NTHS chapter, reach out to the chapter president to join as a member.
